Multicultural Influence on Choral Singing:
Three Workshops Open to the Public, March 6, 13, & 20
The Greater New Haven Community Chorus (GNHCC) is excited to offer residents from the New Haven community,
an area with a rich multicultural heritage, the opportunity to learn how some of these cultures have influenced choral
singing.
Each workshop will concentrate on a different culture:
- Latin-American Spirit (March 6),
- African-American Influence (March 13),
- Americana (March 20),
and discuss theory and rhythms and provice with ample opportunities for singing!

The Greater New Haven Community Chorus (GNHCC) is a mixed-voice
(SATB), nonauditioned chorus that provides choral music for the community of the
Greater New Haven area. GNHCC members have wide musical interests,
often singing with others choral music groups such as
University Glee Club of New Haven,
Saint Joseph's Singers in Manhattan,
and church choirs such as
Saint John Lutheran Church of Meriden, CT.
Membership is opened to men and women of all ages who enjoy singing. GNHCC
currently has over 85 members. New members are always welcomed. No auditions
required.

GNHCC performs two concerts per year, a Winter Concert in December and a
Spring Concert in late May or early June.

Rehearsals Underway
Rehearsals are now underway for GNHCC's 2010 Spring Season. Join us at
Center Church Parish House, 311 Temple Street, New Haven, on Thurday evenings, 7:30pm.
No auditions required, and bring a friend or two!
