Music Theory & History Online

This site contains information about everything you ever wanted or needed to know about music theory, notation, scales, clefs, intervals and so on. If you are not sure what those unfamiliar little symbols mean on your sheet music, this site will probably have an explanation for you!

Alturas Duo

The Alturas Duo perform a repertoire of South American and classical music, with Scott Hill on guitar, and Carlos Boltes, charangos and viola. The Alturas Duo, along with Gonzalo Cortes on quena and flute, provided music for GNHCC's 2007 Winter Concert, Fiesta de Gloria.

The Joy Spring Trio

The Joy Spring Trio perform instrumental swing and bossa flavored jazz throughout central Connecticut, and consist of Cristina Candy, piano, Greg Candy, drums and percussion, and Cory Gabel, bass guitar. The Joy Spring Trio performed for GNHCC's 2006 Spring Concert, Jazz & Blues.

Saint John Lutheran Church of Meriden, Connecticut

Several members of GNHCC also sing in the choir of Saint John Lutheran Church in Meriden, Connecticut.

The University Glee Club of New Haven

Several Tenors and Basses from GNHCC also sing with the University Glee Club. Members of the Glee Club also sing with GNHCC during the Memorial Day concert held at the Schubert Theatre in New Haven.

New Haven Center Church

New Haven Center Church has offices at The Parish House, the venue where GNHCC meets for weekly rehearsals.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

A beautiful and historic church, located just blocks from the green and Yale University in downtown New Haven, Connecticut, Trinity Lutheran Church has provided GNHCC with a rehearsal and performance venue.

Saint Joseph's Singers

Stephen Black, past conductor of GNHCC, directs a choral music ensemble in New York City. Saint Joseph's Singers performs sacred and secular music from all periods, with an emphasis on the music of J. S. Bach and contemporary composers. The website also has sample selections of music that you can listen to.

Saint Joseph's Yorkville

GNHCC has given guest concerts at Saint Joseph's Yorkville on several occasions. Stephen Black, one of GNHCC's previous music director's, is the music director at Saint Joseph's Yorkville.

Rachel Jiménez, Pianist

Home page of pianist Rachel Jiménez complete with biography and repertoire. Includes sound clips of works by Beethoven, Bach, Liszt and others.

ChoralNet

Home of Choralist, ChoralTalk, ChoralAcademe and other Internet resources for choral music.

Vocal Area Network

Vocal Area Network is dedicated to the advancement of vocal ensemble music in the New York City area. Comprehensive listing of choirs in and around New York City, including northern and central New Jersey, southern and western Connecticut.

Association of Connecticut Choruses

A non-profit organization of community, festival, college/university and church choirs, and individual singers that promotes and encourages choral music in Connecticut. The ACC website has a calendar of events where members can post upcoming concerts and other musical events.
